i've been seeing these hoverboards blow upall over the news from these battery shorting out and catching fire, so i decided to tryit for myself and see what happens i got a battery at the same type of lithium batterythe hoverboard users just a little bit smaller in a wire a 12 gauge wire too short the batteryand we're going to film in slow motion to give you an idea how these batteries burn.now here's where i short the positive and negative cables of the battery together andi would say within about 5 or 6 seconds to battery started smoking and sizzling and inabout 20 seconds the battery was about 1000 degrees and here i slowed it down for youjust so you can see how think that smoke was coming off of the battery then here's where it catches on fire and burstinto flames and the color of these flames

from this fire these flames are chemical flameswe didn't call her this at all this is the actual color all of the battery fire and here'sa little bit of real time footage and then i speed it up in a second to about three timesnormal speed just so you can see what this whole fire last about 4 - 5 minutes from thetime it got shorted to the time it burned to a crisp. i was grossly disappointed i wanteda huge explosion like you see all over the news so this is what we got right here i thinkmostly just one cell of the battery burned up i don't know maybe i'll try and next timewith a brand new battery and see how it goes but there's your answer right there that'show the hover boards explode so if you have a hoverboard leave it outside in the garageor something.
