description, but you really want to watchthe end of this tutorial, this training. because i’m going to show you why you want to dothat, and why youtube is going to give you extra love for doing that. stay tuned! ok, now it’s really easy to actually putthat time code hyperlink in your description. all we need to do is find a video, i havethis channel evaluation for one of my subscribers, everide, where i kind of go through and givehim some tips and so on. it’s a longer video i’m going to go ahead and click on the linkhere to go to the video page itself and basically you can see it’s 1 hour and 29 minutes.now that’s long and a lot of people on youtube want to get their content quicker. i’m doingtwo things, 1. i’m trimming this down to
the actual size because we have some q&a.but what we want to do is to figure out key points in the video and we actually put thehyperlink, you know, for the time code. now this is a very simple tip and technique. youcan go ahead and click your description right here, so click this little pencil to openup your description. all we need to do and i’m going to show you up right here at thebeginning is we can actually put the time. so you can see this is 1 minute 55 secondsright up here what we’re going to put is 3:55 and hit save and notice that that actuallyputs the hyperlinks and when we click on it it will actually take us to that portion inthe video, do you see that? so you can put anything that you want. if it’s 1:20:18,we can go ahead and do that let’s go ahead
and hit save and let’s go ahead and hitthis again and you can see that it took us right to that part. so, now the great thingabout this is that link’s here and it’ll help your subscribers get to the right pointsif it’s a longer form video or if it’s some very important points in the video itself. not bad, right? now when people actually clickon the timestamp link in the description youtube loves this! now let me tell you why. youtuberanks off of audience watch time and also audience retention. so when someone clicksthat link and goes to that part in the video it actually counts as two views, think aboutthat for a second. and you’ll also see a spike in your audience retention, which isreally, really good! now i’d love to hear
your thoughts, have you ever used this timestampin your description for your videos? and if it’s new to you put your thoughts in thecomments below. now i really want to mess with my youtube analytics for this video,i think it’s going to be really fun, i’m serious. so i actually put a secret messageusing timestamps for my subscribers in this video. so go ahead and click on the timestampsin the description and listen to the first word to decrypt my secret message, trust methis is going to be really cool. and before you get your secret message make sure youactually subscribe to my video, i guess it’s subscribe to my channel. and go and decryptthat message!
