a smart kiosk

we met a chap called steve costi about 18 month ago. he is a fish monger from sydney with a very well known, well respected brand his family has been doing it since 1958 and they have 14 stores up there, predominantly fresh fish. they wanted to roll the stores out, and we wanted to focus on the cook side, because there was a massive gap in the market there from the casual dining experience so the client came to us saying they wanted to make some pretty fundamental changes to

their business model, and they wanted to use digital to really enhance both the quality of the offerings to their customers and the way they delivered it. so nuon worked with famous fish right from the very start of this change to help them think through exactly how they should be selling to the customer how they should be engaging the customer in the store and then how they should be going about the whole food production process after that, we then worked them to make sure we seamlessly delivered the hardware, the software, got it installed, and made sure that it worked and i think we got a pretty happy client.

the old stores had bain-maries, that's how they were selling the products. we wanted to get a platform that people could buy with their eyes. they're looking at these fantastic images, that's been an unbelievable success. from a marketing point of view it gave us a lot of versatility so we could change marketing prices, images within 5 seconds effectively, once we've got it. so, the solutions that we've put together for famous fish has been based almost entirely on aopen commercial chrome devices. using the intel processor chipset.

we've got higher sales through the use of really great imagery on both the menu boards and the self-service devices you see behind me. and indeed, the screens that the customers see as they are ordering at the point of sales. second grade benefit is that with the integration of the pos with the bump screen in the kitchen the client can deliver a fresher better product faster to the client and indeed get the table turns going much more quickly than they might otherwise with other food production methods and then finally, this ones been the real kicker for them, is self-service ordering kiosks, you can see behind me, have actually, are great for reducing pressure on the point of sale

when the store is busy or the restaurant's busy but the other great advantage is that when people self-service order, the average ticket is 20% higher than if they order at the pos. and i think that's just a remarkable achievement.
